An interview with
Kristy Knight,
Director of Children's
Ministries
What is your most
vivid memory as child?
Driving around in
our back yard in my mother’s car and taking out the picnic
table!
What is a favorite
tradition?
Waking up EARLY
Christmas morning and going to my parents to open presents with
my sister and her family and then spending the rest of the day
together.
What sports or
hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
Michigan Football –
GO BLUE! Red Wings Hockey and DHCA
Basketball
What is something
that would surprise us about you?
I am terrified of
elevators!
What do you love
most about your spouse?
His humility. John
never takes any kind of credit for anything he obtains. He gives
all of his glory to Christ.
How did John
propose?
John wanted to give
me the most beautiful, clear diamond he could find, he even went
all the way to Texas to find it. When the diamond arrived in
Alabama, he could not wait to give to me and he proposed as soon
as it was delivered, in the house he had bought for us to live
in once we were married. What was the reaction? I was shocked. I
never expected to get a ring when I did. I cried and said yes!
How did you come to
know Christ?
I accepted Christ
at an early age, but did not make him Lord of my life until I
was 23. John walked with God everyday and as I watched him read
his Bible early in the morning and pray, I realized then that
God did not have Lordship and I had to re dedicate and give my
life fully over to Him.
Tell us about your
education, what was best/worst subject?
I graduated from
New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in December of 2002.
Favorite class was “Teaching Children - Laying the Foundations
for their Faith”. However, NOBTS could have never prepared me
for the lessons that I would learn from the children I serve.
How did you come to
be in ministry.
I knew God called
me to be in the ministry in 1989 I just did not know in what
capacity. In 1998 God began preparing my heart for what would
become the GREATEST ride of my life!
Tell us about your
pets…
We have a chocolate
lab named Zeke and a yellow lab named Zoe. Zoe is very
protective of me. She once rescued me from being attacked by a
stray dog! Zeke has a personality of his own. He often leaves
our gated back yard to visit our neighbors and then returns
home…without us knowing that he has ever been away.
What do you do at
FBC?

Director of Children’s Ministries which includes FIX56 preteen
ministry.
