An interview with
Sara Lansford,
Director of Preschool

What is your most vivid memory as a child?  In the summer all of the grandchildren would always make trips to Opryland with our grandparents.  We loved sitting in the front row watching “And the Winner Is” and riding Chaos over and over and over…

What is your favorite tradition at Christmas?  On Christmas we always gather at my grandmother’s house for a big breakfast.  There’s something about Christmas morning that makes those waffles taste better than on any other day of the year!

What is something that would surprise us about you?  I have some pretty cool skills that are almost worthless in the States.  I can speak the Songhai language, ride a camel, cook over an open flame, carry things on my head, wash clothes in a river, and find creative ways to kill pests such as scorpions, rats, bats, and lizards.

How did you come to know Christ?  In 9th grade I realized that being a Christian is more than simply believing in God - even the demons believe in God.  A Sunday night youth worker explained to us what it really meant to ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior.  I knew that was something I hadn’t done…until that night.

What were your best and worst subjects in school?  Best - English Worst - anything that had numbers in it

How did you enter the ministry?  In college during a Sunday morning service my pastor asked a simple question, “Do you trust God?”  I started questioning if I really trusted God in everything.  When I decided the answer was “yes,” God said, “Then let’s go!”

Tell us about your pets.  I don’t have any pets!
