OUR MISSION
Throughout Scripture we see that God gives a Song to those He redeems (see Exodus 15, Colossians 3:16). The worship ministry at First Baptist exists to help our church sing that Song together as we make much of Jesus! We aim to lead worship that is centered on Christ, saturated with Scripture, and shaped by the glorious truth of the Gospel.
Meet Andy
Andy Hammond
Worship Pastor
I’m originally from the Memphis, TN area, and I’ve served at First Baptist Decatur since 2025. I’ve been married to DeAnna since 2009, and we have four kids. We love Mississippi State and spending time together outdoors hiking or riding bikes.
I enjoy good coffee, and I have a passion for teaching about biblical worship and using the music of the church to help all the generations of the church sing together. Let me encourage you to be a part of the worship ministry as we make much of Christ together.

WORSHIP CHOIR
Our worship choir leads during our Sunday morning service and worship events throughout the year. Interested in joining? No musical experience is required—just drop by a rehearsal on Wednesday nights at 6pm, or contact our worship pastor, Andy Hammond, for more information.
ORCHESTRA
Our orchestra serves the church by accompanying our singing on Sunday mornings and playing for special worship events throughout the year. We rehearse in the sanctuary on Wednesdays from 7:15-8:00pm. Whether you play a rhythm instrument, piano, brass, woodwind, or strings—contact our worship pastor, Andy Hammond, for more information about serving.
Audio/video
